Auto-Enrolment - Opt-Out Window Opens

Following our previous OSK blog on Auto Enrolment FAQ Guide for Employees, employees who have been automatically enrolled in the My Future Fund pension scheme should be aware that they have the option to opt out after six months of participation.

The opt-out window opened on 1st July and will remain open for a two-month period. For example, employees enrolled on 1 January 2026 can choose to opt out during July or August 2026. Employees who opt out during this period will receive a refund of their own contributions, while employer and State contributions will be returned to the scheme.

Employees who decide to leave the scheme during the two-month opt-out window should be aware that they will be automatically re-enrolled after two years, provided they still meet the eligibility criteria unless you are contributing to a pension through your employer’s payroll.

If you would like to learn more about Auto Enrolment, or discuss how the scheme may affect your business or employees, contact the OSK team today.
